On 3rd July, a significant moment unfolded for the Sikh community worldwide — the renovation work of the historic Gurdwara Khara Sahib Bhai Ke Mattu in Pakistan officially began. This sacred initiative is being carried out by Sewa Sambhal Foundation, an organization committed to preserving Sikh heritage with deep reverence and devotion. Gurdwara Khara Sahib holds immense historical and spiritual importance. Located in the village of Bhai Ke Mattu, this Gurdwara is closely connected to the sacred journeys (Udasis) and teachings of the Sikh Gurus. For years, this site remained in a state of neglect, but the recent launch of the renovation work marks a revival — a spiritual awakening and a reconnection with history. The renovation is not just about restoring an old building; it’s about reviving the Sikh identity, preserving religious history, and ensuring that future generations remain connected to their spiritual roots. Every brick being laid is filled with the essence of Gurmat, and every hand involved in the sewa is moved by faith and devotion. Sewa Sambhal Foundation has approached this task with utmost sincerity, respecting the original structure while using sustainable methods to ensure the site remains preserved for decades to come. The team includes architects, historians, and volunteers — all united by a common goal: to protect the legacy left by the Gurus. Such sacred places are living symbols of our collective past. They tell stories of courage, spirituality, and service. By restoring them, we are not only honoring our history but also giving future generations the opportunity to witness the richness of Sikh tradition. The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. From India to Canada, from the UK to Australia, Sikhs around the world are expressing their support and pride in seeing this project take shape. As this spiritual renovation journey continues, we invite everyone to be a part of it — through support, prayers, and awareness. Let’s join hands to keep our sacred heritage alive. Our heritage is our strength. Our Gurdwaras are our pride. Let’s preserve them, together.
